I’m going to tell you how to start a solo podcast.
It will take you 25 minutes to do, and all you’ll need is a cell phone and a piece of paper.
Decide your podcast niche
Take out your piece of paper. Write down your interests on one side of the paper, and write down your skills on the other side of the paper.
Spend 3 minutes writing. Then, spend 2 minutes deciding your niche. Decide your niche by combining skills and interests.
This will take 5 minutes.
Download Spreaker
Your next step is to download the Spreaker Studio app.
Spreaker is a podcast host, and the app allows you to record episodes with your phone!
This will take 5 minutes or less.
Name your podcast and write the description
Now you need to come up with a name for your podcast. Make sure to have a strong seed keyword in your podcast’s name.
For example, if your podcast is about gardening, you’ll want to put the word “garden” or “gardening” in its name.
Now you want to come up with a podcast description. Your description simply describes what your audience will learn about in your show.
It doesn’t have to be perfect, because you can change it later if you don’t like it.
This will take 5 to 10 minutes.
Make your podcast logo with Canva
Now you’ll need to make your podcast logo. You can make it for free with Canva.
Don’t overthink it. Just pick a logo template and start.
Once again, this is another thing you can change later if you don’t like it.
This will take 5 to 10 minutes.
Now you can start recording your solo podcast!
Now that you’ve created your podcast foundation, you can start recording your solo podcast!
And give yourself a pat on the back, because in 25 minutes you’ve:
- Decided your podcast niche
- Downloaded the Spreaker podcast app
- Named your podcast
- Written your podcast description
- Made your podcast logo
And I’ll say it one more time: if you don’t like something, you can change it later. Iteration is a superpower.
